5 Awesome Ways to Get Seen Online FAST

Sometimes, marketing your business can feel like an uphill battle, especially when you’re strapped for cash. You work so hard, but everything goes unnoticed, simply because you’re competing with others in the newsfeed. You have something amazing to share with the world, but you often get left behind. There are many reasons we can be unfollowed on social or overlooked! We all want more attention, more clicks and more conversions, and we’re all vying for that top spot.

The struggle is real. But don’t despair – here are 5 awesome ways to get seen online FAST to get your message out:

1. Guest Blog

You probably already know that blogging is great for your business. You may already spend quite a bit of time preparing blogs of your very own, meticulously crafting posts for your website. But when you hit publish and no one is there to see, it can be frustrating and may even deter you from posting again. This can create a sense of overwhelm and let down. Instead, consider setting aside some time to write a guest post for an influential blog. They’ll already have the audience, helping you to get in front of more people very fast. If possible, try pushing viewers to your post for additional resources, helping you to grow your own readership and email list.

TIP: Be sure to read the terms and conditions of the blog. Having a great relationship as a guest blogger comes with many perks, including having your post shown on the homepage.

2. Offer Help

There are tons of people looking for experts online to help with content of their own. Often times, it can be in the form of a video, audio or even just a quote. Many times, this type of content is unpaid, but it can lead to being seen by people who have never heard of you, and will help you be more loveable on social media! Try connecting with blog contributors, media, or community managers online to build relationships. You may just be the person they reach out to the next time they need some help.

TIP: Consider finding a complimentary audience that you may not have considered before. For example, if you’re a consultant, find an association that really needs your expertise.

3. Podcast

Podcasting is great way to promote your content, and often comes with many great perks. You may want to create your own podcast that is syndicated to iTunes and Stitcher. Invite guests, who in turn have audiences that you can leverage. If podcasting isn’t your thing, consider going on a podcasting circuit, connecting with podcasters to pitch your content. This is a great way to expand your reach (you can even try using video, here is a post to help with that)

TIP: Have a media kit at the ready to pitch podcasters or to influence experts to be interviewed on your podcast.

4. Speak

Speaking may seem a little daunting, but with just a little effort, you can get in front of a ton of people really fast. Speaking also helps people to connect with you, especially if you’re in front of a live audience. Consider local opportunities, applying to be a speaker at an online summit, or even trying out for a TEDx event. There are so many opportunities out there to speak, both online and offline. You may want to dedicate a year to solely booking speaking gigs, either paid and unpaid.

TIP: To become more comfortable speaking in front of people, consider trying Periscope live broadcasting. Periscope is a great way to practice your public speaking and become comfortable in your own skin.

5. Advertise

If you’re really finding it difficult to get in front of people, you may want to consider advertising with Facebook ads, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube or Adwords ads. Online advertising is one of the best ways to reach a targeted audience that is measurable. A potential goal could be to drive traffic to an opt-in page for additional email marketing.

TIP: Before jumping into advertising, consider your strategy and budget. Too often do I see people throw money at a promotion simply because of desperation to reach more people.

Getting seen online can definitely be a struggle, but being strategic and focusing your efforts on the right path can really make a difference to your business.
